In Mexico, sinks or bathtubs/whirlpools may be integrated openly into the general living area of the hotel room without spatial separation. As of April 1, 2021, a tourism tax came into effect and currently amounts to a one-time fee of 72.63 Mexican pesos, or approximately 3.72 US dollars per person, regardless of the planned duration of stay in the country.

Alternatively, the tax can be paid in cash upon arrival at the airport. It is advisable to carry the exact amount in Mexican pesos or US dollars.

No smoking policy

Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Mexico. This also applies to public transport, beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. Violations can be punished with fines or imprisonment.

Seasonal information

For stays between April and December, increased occurrences of seaweed and algae may occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, an increased presence of brown algae is often observed in the Caribbean during this period, affecting the beach and sea. The hotel management and local authorities are of course endeavoring to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with municipal administrations. However, this requires the use of appropriate equipment, which emits a slight noise.
