Location

The hotel, part of the popular RIU chain, is located directly on the beautiful sandy beach of Arena Gorda. Punta Cana International Airport is approx. 25 km away, and the center of Higüey is approx. 40 km away.

The expansive, fully renovated luxury resort with 994 rooms is spread across a main building and several annex buildings with 2-3 floors. Facilities include a buffet restaurant with a terrace, 6 à la carte restaurants (including Fusion, Japanese, Steakhouse, new: American Country), a food court with various stations, an ice cream parlor, and 7 bars, including 2 swim-up bars (ages 18+) and a 24-hour sports bar. The tropical garden area now features 10 pools, including a children's pool with slides. Additionally, there is a spa, theater, RiuArt workshop, shops, a disco, and the "Splash Water World" water park with 6 slides. Sun loungers on the beach are included.

Junior Suite

The modernized Junior Suites are located in the main building, are spacious, and feature a bathroom/toilet with a hydromassage bathtub, air conditioning, satellite TV, flat-screen TV, safe, minibar, beverage dispenser, coffee/tea maker, ironing board, and iron. They also offer a small seating area with a sofa bed and a balcony or terrace (JS2/JS1/K3J/KJ1/KJ2). Also bookable as a Junior Suite Superior with courtyard view (2JS/1JS).

With the same amenities, these rooms feature a king-size bed and a queen-size bed, or three queen-size beds (subject to availability) and a seating area with a sofa bed (DF2). Also bookable as Family Room Courtyard View (2FA).

With the same amenities, these rooms have two bedrooms with one king-size bed and a sofa bed, and two queen-size beds and a sofa bed (TFJ).

With the same amenities, bookable for guests aged 18 and over, with a king-size bed or two queen-size beds, and a seating area with a sofa (VJS).

Seasonal information

During stays between April and December, increased occurrences of seaweed and algae may occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, there is often an increased presence of brown algae in the Caribbean during this period, which affects the beach and sea. The hotel management and local authorities are of course endeavoring to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with the local municipalities. However, this requires the use of appropriate equipment, which can generate some noise.
