Location

The Hotel Bachschmied is centrally located in one of Austria's most beautiful family ski areas, the Hochkönig ski resort in Maria Alm. The Schwarzeckalmbahn ski lift and the Sinalcobahn cable car provide access to skiing enjoyment. Alternatively, there are also wonderful hiking and walking trails, as well as adventurous mountain bike paths for enjoying nature actively.
Especially in winter:
In a prime location, right in the middle of the ski area (Maria Alm, Hintermoos, Hinterthal, Dienten and Mühlbach) of "Hochkönig's Winterreich," one of the most beautiful ski areas in the Salzburger Land. The Hochkönig Winterreich boasts 33 modern, interconnected, state-of-the-art lifts and 120 kilometers of slopes. Guests can ski directly from and to the hotel (SKI IN and SKI OUT).

Facilities

The family-run hotel welcomes guests into an inviting lobby with a reception, after which they can settle into the cozy and bright rooms and enjoy their arrival. Guests can indulge in culinary delights in the restaurant, which is divided into three areas, in the opposite bistro, "Riverside," with a sun terrace, or at the hotel bar with a delicious drink. Events, such as après-ski, are celebrated here and are popular with winter sports guests after a day on the slopes. For the ultimate relaxation of body and mind, there is an elegant wellness area with a sauna and relaxation room.

The comfortable rooms are equipped with a double bed and a double sofa bed, as well as a shower/WC, hairdryer, flat-screen TV with radio, Wi-Fi, rental bathrobes (incl.), and a balcony (approx. 24m², D).

Double room Type A

All comfortable rooms have a shower/WC, hairdryer, integrated flat-screen TV with radio, rental bathrobe, double bed, sofa bed, and balcony (approx. 24m², DA).

Double room Type B

With otherwise similar amenities to the double rooms Type A, including a double sofa bed (DB).

Notice

NEW from Summer 2025: For all guests staying in the state of Salzburg from May 1, 2025, there is a new fee, the "Mobility Tax". The fee will be levied parallel to the local tax per overnight stay and will be used for the expansion of transportation. In return, all guests will receive free use of public transport in their holiday destination. The fee must be paid regardless of the use of public transport.
- The Mobility Tax is a legally enshrined tax and must be paid for all chargeable overnight stays.
- From May 1, 2025: €0.50, gradual increase of the amount, from May 1, 2027: €1.10.
