Location

Surrounded by a tropical palm garden, in a quiet yet central location, separated only by a road (approx. 250 m from the beach) from one of Crete's most beautiful sandy beaches, lies the small, charming Hotel Villa Sonia.
Shops, entertainment, bars, and restaurants are in the immediate vicinity and within walking distance. The center of Stalis is approximately 1.5 km away, and the vibrant heart of Malia with its famous nightlife is about 2.5 km away. Heraklion Airport is approximately 30 km away.
The central location of Villa Sonia also allows you to easily explore the surrounding area. Use Villa Sonia as your base and discover the attractive beaches, charming villages, and breathtaking landscapes of the island of Crete.

Facilities

The charming, small hotel in boutique style is a Schauinsland-Reisen original, one of Malia's best-kept secrets, and the perfect expression of traditional island hospitality. The 18 modern guest rooms at Villa Sonia, spread across two buildings connected by a tropical palm garden, feature a reception area with free Wi-Fi and a satellite TV lounge, as well as the "Edelweiss" café-cocktail bar. A lovingly prepared continental breakfast is served each morning on the shaded terrace of the cafeteria, which is open all day. In the evening, Edelweiss Cafe becomes a relaxing lounge area where you can enjoy your drink or cocktail in a romantic atmosphere with carefully selected music in the background.
The swimming pool of the neighboring hotel (approx. 150 m away) can be used. Sun loungers and umbrellas are available at the pool and on the beach for a fee.

Double Room

The bright and friendly Double Rooms (D) are equipped with a double bed or two single beds and feature satellite TV, safe, free Wi-Fi, individually adjustable air conditioning, coffee/tea making facilities, a mini-fridge, a bathroom with shower/WC and hairdryer, and a balcony or terrace.
Also available for single occupancy (DE).

Double Room Superior

The Double Rooms Superior (DSU), partially renovated in 2023, have a more modern interior, while otherwise being equipped identically to the Double Rooms.

The Double Rooms Superior with small private garden (DAS) are equipped identically to the Double Rooms Superior, with the additional feature of a small private garden.

Destination Information Climate Resilience Levy

For stays from January 1, 2018, the Greek government levies a climate resilience fee, which is to be paid by the guest locally, similar to a tourist tax. The amount depends on the type/category of accommodation and, as of January 1, 2025, will be tiered from 0.50 Euro to 15 Euros per day and room.
For stays during high season April 1 - October 31:
National category 1-2 stars: 2 Euros
National category 3 stars: 5 Euros
National category 4 stars: 10 Euros
National category 5 stars: 15 Euros
For stays during low season November 1 - March 31:
