Location

The resort is located on the private island of Maafushi in the Dhaalu Atoll, which is connected by a jetty to the neighboring island of Kedigandu and the sister hotel RIU Palace Maldivas located there. The transfer is by domestic flight (approx. 45 minutes) to Kudahuvadhoo airport island, followed by a speedboat transfer (approx. 15 minutes). A seaplane transfer (approx. 45 minutes) can be booked for an additional charge and upon request.

Facilities

The RIU Atoll Maafushi Island, newly opened in May 2019, features 264 rooms, located on the island and on stilts over the water. Amenities include an open reception area with seating, a boutique, a hairdresser, and a mini-market. For culinary delights, there is the main restaurant and two specialty restaurants (Steakhouse and Italian cuisine), as well as three bars. The outdoor area features a swimming pool with a swim-up bar and an adjacent children's pool. Sun loungers, umbrellas, and beach towels are provided free of charge.

Double room with sea view

The rooms (approx. 31 sqm) are located in two-story buildings on the upper floor and feature a shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, ceiling fan, satellite TV, safe, minibar, seating area, and a balcony with sea view (DM/DEM).

Beach Room Ocean Front

With the same amenities and size as the double rooms with sea view, these rooms are located on the ground floor and have a terrace (2BQ/1BQ).

Overwater Junior Suite

With similar amenities to the double rooms with sea view, this room category is located on stilts over the water and is more spacious (37 sqm). Additional amenities include bathrobes and slippers, a beverage dispenser, and direct access to the sea (O2V).

Overwater Junior Suite Superior

With the same amenities as the Overwater Junior Suite, but more spacious (41 sqm) and an additional bathtub (O2U).

Speedboat: Operation for estimated arrival/departure between 5 AM and 11 PM // Domestic (Domestic flight): Operation estimated for arrivals/departures between 9:30 AM and 4 PM // Seaplane: Operation estimated for arrivals/departures between 9 AM and 3 PM.
Waiting times of 3 hours or more for onward transfer are possible.
There may be 1-2 stopovers on seaplane transfers.
For arrivals/departures outside the above times, in case of bad weather or long immigration waiting times, an overnight stay in Male may be necessary.
